OUR VERY FIRST: MOMMY COMES TO SCHOOL DAY!

This week William's mom came to school to read her favorite Halloween story GO AWAY, BIG GREEN MONSTER by Ed Emberley.
After the read aloud William's mom showed us during Arts &Crafts how to make our very own BIG GREEN MONSTER FACES.
We all tried to remember the different colors that made up the face:
2 Yellow Eyes
1 Blue Nose
2 Green Ears
1 Red Mouth
White Teeth and Purple Hair!

After we finished creating our Big Green Monsters, William's mom told us she was giving us the book to keep in the classroom for us to enjoy whenever we want!!!
Thanks so much to William's mom, you made our day truly special! xoxo

***I would like to invite all parents and grandparents the opportunity to come to school and share a favorite story or song and an art craft. The children truly enjoyed "Mommy comes to school day" and William was just beyond thrilled that his mom was there to teach the class.
Please email me if your interested and I will make a monthly schedule for the year. Thanks.

OUR FIRE SAFETY MURAL!

Fire Safety!

SONG: FIREFIGHTER SONG
(Tune: I'm a little teapot)

I'm a little firefighter on the go,
 Here is my helmet,
 Here is my hose.
When I see a fire,
Hear me shout:
"TURN ON THE WATER
AND PUT THE FIRE OUT!"

This week is all about FIRE SAFETY!
We know that incase of a fire you need to:

1  Find and Tell an Adult
2 Get Out of the House
3 Call  911
4 Stay Away from the House and wait for the FIREFIGHTERS

**** REMEMBER TO HAVE A FAMILY PLAN IN CASE OF A FIRE...

Our Fire Safety Maps!

The Letter F

This week we are learning about the letter F.  We read THE FOOT BOOK by our FAVORITE author Theodor Geisel. In his book there are so many different types of feet...

After reading Dr. Suess we traced our own feet and decorated them...Can you guess which foot is Miss Melissa's?????

Everyone helped put the feet in size order....BIGGEST to smallest!

TRACING OUR SHOES TO MAKE OUR DR. SUESS FOOT PRINTS. SO MUCH FUN!!!

Eric Carle: The Very Busy Spider

Intro To Spiders

How many legs do spiders have?
What do they live in?
How is a web made?
What does it feel like?
What do spiders eat?

This week we read Eric Carle's The Very Busy Spider! We learned all about spiders. Then we made our own spider web on the classroom door and busy little spiders to hang on the web. Can you find the fly the busy little spiders want to catch?

The Very Busy Students!

Music and Movement:  SPIDER RACE!!!!

SONG/FINGERPLAY: THE ITSY BITSY SPIDER

The Itsy Bitsy Spider went up the water spout,
Down came the rain and washed the spider out,
Up came the sun and dried off all the rain,
And the Itsy Bitsy Spider crawled up the spout again.
